OUTSOURCING GROWTH FOR 2008
10 01 2008According to a survey of 250 IT professionals by U.S. based outsourcing and BPO Company Syntel, fifty three percent of companies to increase outsourcing spending this year.
It was expressed by Bharat Desai, Chief Executive Officer of Syntel, that outsourcing is one industry that will not suffer from the crisis in the credit markets. He stated that in an uncertain economy, companies look for technology solutions that will increase productivity, efficiency and savings.
The study of BPO trends for 2007 surveyed major global companies in the insurance, banking, telecom, retail and banking industries. It found that technical support and customer care departments continue to be the most commonly outsourced divisions, standing at more than 60 percent and 40 percent respectively. Currently, India remains as the most popular choice, chosen by about 70 percent of respondents. [CPL]
